Head out for some seaside adventures:

Weymouth boasts a beautiful sandy beach that's perfect for family fun, even in the winter months. Bundle up in warm clothes and head out for a walk along the promenade, build sandcastles, or simply enjoy the refreshing sea air. Our top tip would be to stop for a cup of hot chocolate or even better, some traditional fish and chips along the way.

Take a trip to the Sea Life Centre:

Take a fascinating underwater journey at The Sea Life Centre in Weymouth. Kids will love exploring the diverse marine life, from colorful tropical fish to majestic sea turtles. Interactive exhibits and educational talks provide plenty of opportunities for learning and discovery, making it a perfect family-friendly attraction, rain or shine.

Explore Nothe Fort:

Step back in time and explore the history hidden within the Nothe Fort, where you can also enjoy panoramic views of Weymouth Bay. Your little ones will love discovering the fort's labyrinthine tunnels, ramparts, and secret passages, while parents can soak up the rich history of this fascinating coastal defense.

Get active:

Are you a family who love to explore the great outdoors? If so, Weymouth offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventure… Head to the Lodmoor Country Park where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll or bike ride along scenic nature trails - you can also pop into Weymouth Bay Coffee Co. for a bite to eat or a nice warming cup of coffee. If you fancy braving the ocean in the winter, why not try your hand at waterspouts like kayaking or paddle boarding.

Rainy day fun:

When coming on holiday in February, some rain is to be expected but I personally feel there is no such thing as bad weather, instead, it’s a bad choice of clothing… so get all wrapped up in your waterproofs & your wellies and head out to splash in some puddles - the little ones and even you as adults will love it! And when you’re all splashed out, head back to your holiday home, get yourselves all warm & snuggle up on the sofa as a family.

Crabbing:

Crabbing isn’t just a summer activity, it’s something that can be enjoyed all year round… head to the harbour, purchase a crab net or line (if you can, make sure you choose the eco-friendly version!) along with your bait and you’re ready for a whole afternoon of fun - adults can enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the water, and your little ones will love the thrill of catching their own crabs!

Take a look at our family friendly properties…

  • Joanne’s Retreat - a wonderful little two bedroom ground floor flat with a private garden, perfect for a family of three, even four if you have a dog!

  • Chalkhill View - a charming two bedroom house that sleeps four, perfect for those looking to explore their love of water-sports. It’s dog-friendly too!

  • PennWay House - a luxurious three story, modern house with a Hot Tub.

Whether you’re exploring the great outdoors or delving into the town’s history, there is never a dull moment in this charming little seaside town… so gather the family, pack your bags and get ready for an unforgettable holiday down in Dorset.
