The Experience

You open the door to the penthouse apartment, and in an instant, find yourself grinning from ear to ear.

Stylish, retro-chic furnishings, stunning light, a ruby-red velvet couch. An armchair and a footstool that have ‘afternoon nap’ written all over them. You smile to each other and step inside.

The kids fall hungrily on the biscuits in the welcome hamper. You find fresh milk in the fridge, put the kettle on and heap coffee into the cafetière. “The name’s misleading”, you think to yourself happily as you look around at the space; there’s tons of room for the four of you.

You step out onto the sunny patio, listen to the seagulls and smile at the waves. Behind you, breathless voices and excited feet. “This place is so cool!”; “Come look at the bedroom!”

You leave the bags and head out together to find the beach. Within minutes, you’re squinting up at circling gulls and dipping tentative toes into the sea. You spend the afternoon in Weymouth, eating ice cream on the beach, ducking in-and-out of shops, and strolling along The Esplanade.

You walk home on weary feet, have dinner in the local pub. And as night falls, you let the distant waves lull you to sleep in your cloud-soft, king-size bed.

The Practicalities

The loft is a two-bedroom top-floor apartment in Preston, Weymouth. Ideal for two couples, or a family of four.

  • It’s in Preston, just a 3 minute walk from the pebbly Overcombe Beach.

  • You have free designated parking for one car.

  • The home is spacious, with two bedrooms. The ‘Green Room’ is a spacious king; the ‘Pink Room’ is a nice-sized double. If you need a travel cot, let me know in advance and I’ll make sure it’s all set up and waiting for you when you arrive.

  • You’ll find a welcome pack when you arrive with proper tea, coffee, fresh milk and local biscuits so you can have a nice hot drink as you settle in after your journey. I also supply soft towels, and naturally mineral-rich toiletries by Sea Kelp.

  • The kitchen is modern and well-equipped, including a dishwasher. I supply basic herbs and spices, salt, pepper and olive oil, so you can get cooking straight away.

For every holiday booked at The Loft, I plant a tree.

  • My little family had a perfect stay here and felt very welcome. Georgina was very friendly and responsive. The apartment is colorful and nicely decorated and well equipped, the beds are soo comfortable and it's only a few minutes walking to the beach. We started our day in the Oasis Cafe and enjoyed all the surrounding, we easily got to Weymouth, durdle door, Lulworth castle and the smuggler's in restaurant by car.

  • Such a lovely apartment. Super spacious, both rooms were big. Interior is beautiful. Short walk to the beach and good location to be based in to explore Jurassic coast.

  • WOW - this was a really special Air BnB. Goes beyond and above the photos. Very spacious, a lovely space for a few friends or two couples to come away to. Every single thing had been thought of. As someone hoping to set up my own air bnb in the future, I was taking so many mental notes. The welcome pack with instructions, a welcome milk and loaf of bread, lots of little treats and cosmetics - the kitchen was well equipped. Very luxurious with vintage touches, great quality and soft towels and rugs. Lovely choice of books and games (maybe a couple of jigsaws would be a nice touch?) I felt like I was floating in a cloud for days and even though we had a jampacked itinerary in Dorset, I found myself wanting to grab any minute to come back and enjoy the accommodation some more. I would 100% recommend this as a place to come, stay and enjoy.
