The Experience
You drive along the Portland Beach Road; deep blue on either side, waves crashing against the rocks in the distance. “Is this where we’re staying?” You smile over your shoulder.
A few minutes later, you open the door to an achingly cool kitchen. Effortlessly stylish with pops of colour; John, Paul, Ringo and George pouting at you from the wall. “Who are they?” You roll your eyes.
The kids sneak past you to pick their bedroom upstairs.
There’s a welcome basket on the countertop full of tasty treats. You nibble thoughtfully on a biscuit, find fresh milk in the fridge and- with a flurry of deep joy- spot the freshly ground coffee on the side.
You explore the house together, finding endless treasures along the way. A wall of fridge magnets from all over the world. A map with loads of countries- countless countries- crossed off. Your finger traces all those still to come; your mind strays to adventure.
You head outside into the blustery wind and pick up the South West Coastal Walk right outside. The kids skip alongside you, excitedly filling every minute of the trip. A morning of kite surfing, an afternoon on the bikes down to Portland Bill. A day on the beach in Weymouth; another in Church Ope Cove.
That night, you head to the top floor. “A mini cinema room” (as the kids called it). You put a film on, and before long you’re scooping sleepy bodies into bed.
As darkness falls, you sneak into the hot tub together, share a bottle and watch the stars slowly fill the inky sky.

The Practicalities
PennWay House is the perfect Portland holiday home for two couples, or a family of four.
The location is incredible! It’s right on the South West Coastal Trail, a short drive into Weymouth, opposite Pennsylvania Castle, and walking distance from the iconic Portland Bill. And being on the tied island of Portland, you have tons of climbing, hiking and watersports right on your doorstep.
The hot tub in the back garden is free to use all year round. There is also a BBQ in the back garden, which you are more than welcome to use as well.
The technology in this house is amazing! You can bluetooth your phone to the speaker system and play music in every room of the house. There’s two huge flatscreen TVs, a designated workspace, speedy wifi, a coffee machine, a dishwasher…basically everything you could possibly need and more!
The Portland holiday home has two double bedrooms. One is an en-suite master bedroom, the other is a normal double. Both beds have tempur-quality mattresses so you can look forward to a good night’s sleep! If you need a travel cot, let me know in advance and I’ll make sure it’s all set up and waiting for you when you arrive.
The kitchen is very well-equipped, including a dishwasher. You’ll find a welcome pack when you arrive with nice tea, coffee, fresh milk and local biscuits, so you can have a nice hot drink as you settle in. I also supply basic herbs and spices, salt, pepper and olive oil, so you can get cooking straight away.
